Fall Championship

Fall 2017 - Championship

Shuttlesworth - 73 vs Jack Daniel Martin's - 57

The championship was between Shuttlesworth who was at the top of the standings all season long with some dominating performances along the way and Jack Daniel Martins who started the season 1-3 before righting the ship and winning five straight going into the final game.

Right away the height advantage for Shuttlesworth was felt as they dominated the boards. Almost every time down the court in the first half Shuttlesworth had a second or third chance opportunity thanks to the hustle of Drew Leenhouts (8 points), Wil Michalski, (16 points) and Cedric White (game high 19 points). This opened up a quick double-digit lead for them and they hardly ever looked back.

The lead swelled up to 25 points at one point in the second half, however, Jack Daniel Martins did show some pride getting the deficit down to 9 at one point. The firepower of Shuttlesworth was too much as anytime the game got relatively close they would hit a big shot as they shot the three ball extremely efficiently. Matt Novak hit a couple tough ones finishing with 10 points.

It was a tough game for JDM as they came into the contest second in the league in scoring. The defensive versatility of Shuttlesworth made every basket JDM scored a challenge.  Chris Cassel finished with 11 points for JDM.

A great team win for Shuttlesworth as all eight players got in on the scoring action. Shuttlesworth now reigns supreme in the CBL and will be taking on all challengers come January. Congrats fellas!

The CBL would like to thank all the teams, players, refs, and scorekeepers that played a part in our fall season. We look forward to getting back on the court in January!
